50 km | 31 mi from Faversham feat. Whitstable, Chilham & the Kent Downs.
Hop on a train to Faversham, a cute market town located in between the coast and the Downs. On this ride you will enjoy nice coastal views, visit quaint villages and have a foretaste of the stunning nature of the Kent Downs AONB.

From Faversham, you'll head straight into the Downs and enjoy the quite lanes of this Area of Ouststanding Natural Beauty.
There are usually more cattle than cars in this part of the country and the panoramic views are not to be missed.
After 18 km, youâll arrive in Chilham, a quaint Kent village. We were there on the Jubilee weekend so there was a street party to celebrate. Mini Union Jacks everywhere, roasting hog, people cheering and dressing upâŠquite an experience for a French person, and it made my day!
Soon you'll spot the blue horizon: sea ahead! It is then (almost) only downhill all the way to Whitstable harbour, a quirky seaside town where you can have fish and chips or oysters by the sea to refuel.
You might feel a bit full after that, but thankfully the next 14 km back to Faversham are flat so you can digest whilst enjoying the sea views.
