This is an extended version to our London to Box Hill, which also starts from Richmond Park but has some extra detours & climbs in the Surrey Hills. For this ride we've added 2 of our favourite coffee stops in Surrey!

Escape from the city past Kingston and the traffic starts to breath easier. You'll feel the countryside vibe right after Cobham where the rolling lanes turn a dozen shades of green.

After a few climbs and you arrive at your first coffee stop, Heartwork Cafe (39 km), a cool rustic converted barn with fairy lights and bike racks among the horse stables.

Caffeine onboard, it’s time to attack the famous Leith Hill before turning to Abinger road, probably our favourite stretch of road in the area. Anstie lane is a nice additional before hitting Coldharbour lane, all the way to Dorking and Ranmore.

Finally, after 66km comes the iconic Box Hill, a National Trust area that deserves its title.

After taking the time to enjoy the view at the top we like to go down through the quiet back lanes.

Next up, The Queens Stage (after 87 km). This smart cycling hub is also a pub that serves coffees and pastries, so pick your vibe! There is plenty of bike parking and loads of seats inside and out.

You will then head back to London via Esher, to cross Bushy and Richmond Park. As always, if you still have energy in the tank, have fun doing a few laps before heading home.

Enjoy the ride!
